Who can I hire or contact to help with my mortgage modification?

My lender is being very difficult and I’m afraid I’ll lose my house instead of getting the modification. With each passing month the situation is getting worse and worse like they are not on my side. Who can I contact to trust and who will really help me? I had contacted someone and paid $1500 upfront but never heard from them again and don’t have that money anymore. Need cheap but reliable assistance ASAP (in california). A friend of mine got a modificaton but she’s stingy with the info and not helping me out like she wants me to lose my house or somehting. Please help.
I almost don’t care if I lose the house because the mortgage is about 150K higher than the selling price in my neighborhood, I just didn’t want to be irresponsible and have bad credit but dam it I already have lates on my credit after being on time for 7 years and if they’re going to drag it out I’d rather just pack up and leave than be humiliated in front of my neighbors with foreclosure notices posted all over the place. So pissed off at not getting help.

  1. Need to to do it yourself. Call and call again. Call every week, speak to many people, keep calling. Ask what lender is doing to comply with Obama’s plan?
Did you report the disappearing guy to attorney general, they are prosecuting these jerks, and driving them out of state.

  2. Chat is correct – you need to keep calling the lender and insist on help.
The bank is not on your side nor should they be – they just want you to honor the mortgage agreement you signed. And all lenders are overwhelmed right now with requests for loan mods.
Get the loss mitigation department and you should be talking to the loan negotiator.
One thing the banks don’t want to do is to have foreclosed homes in their inventory.
You can tell them you are planning to let the home go to foreclosure- that will get their attention. Another option is to tell them you want a deed in lieu of foreclosure.
Please don’t actually do these things because it will ruin your credit. But they have to know you are desperate and that you will not go away until they give you some help.
If you can’t get the modification, can you find some way to afford your current payments? Do what it takes – get another job, take in tenants, or move out and rent the house out.

  3. http://bestloanmodificationcompanyreviews.com/default.htm … they have 3 loan modification companies they recommend – without upfront fees.

DO NOT EVER HIRE ANYONE TO DO THIS!!!
GO TO http://www.hud.gov and find some one to help you there.
Don’t talk to the bank unless totally necessary They only want to squeeze you for any money they can get out of you.
The law states that if the person has filled out the proper applications and has been denied modification the bank is going to be in big trouble with the government so they have to modify your loan!!!!
I am going through this my self AND MY NEIGHBOR IS A LOAN MODIFICATION lawyer and he is guiding me
Check on any correspondence you get (probably every other day like me) from your bank and at the bottom of their letters they should say if you need help contact these agencies THEY ARE FREE AND WILL HELP
I lost one months payment to a loan modification company
They are bogus and you can get support for HuD or Call your states legal Aid program and they will make you fill out a form but they will get you to the right people to help you for free! Your bank isn’t IndyMac is it cuz they are the WORST but all of them are doing the same thing The Gov loaned them tons of money at 0 % to help the people like you and me on the condition that they modify our loans if the banks dont do this the Gov will shut them down so… They will help but fill out the correct apps and call legal aid for your state and explain your situation They will help you for free and set you in the right direction
    Good Luck!!!
